Some of my sites
Portfolio
My preference now is to do only sites for 501c3 organizations, at a markedly reduced fee. And only if they catch my fancy in some way. If you are a 501c3 please do email me. As you can see from the design of my own website, my personal preference is for peace and visual simplicity. Some sites do require a different design approach however.
Seth Shulman
A w3c standards-compliant website for journalist and author Seth Shulman, with a distinctive home page.
Exeter Historical Society
The Exeter Historical Society offers regular programs of local historical interest and is a repository for documents, maps, photos, artifacts, and other ephemera pertaining to Exeter, New Hampshire. And they have my kind of taste in web design!
NH Court Diversion
The New Hampshire Juvenile Court Diversion Network is a coalition of over 30 programs dedicated to helping young offenders. Accountability and reparation are the hallmarks of juvenile court diversion.
Squamscott Community Commons
The mission of the Squamscott Community Commons is to improve the quality of community and family life by creating and maintaining an intergenerational center that provides social, health, recreational, cultural and education opportunities for all.
Mechanic's Mate
This site has many different aspects of note. High on that list would be the very complex Shopping Cart, built with WebAssist's eCommerceSuite. And check out the Palm Option page too.
John Agosti & Associates
A straightforward but rather dramatic site for
Fire cause and origin, arson prosecution and
defense, product subrogation, fire and building codes, life safety codes,
as well as fire department operations and management.
Gundalow Company
This non-profit organization's focal point is an amazing
18th century boat that once plied the Gulf of Maine's
rivers and estuaries. Their mission to provide the
Piscataqua community with a positive learning experience about
the region's environmental, cultural, social and maritime history
ComplianceTechnologies
In taking over this site, a complete rethinking and redesign
for the navigation bar was needed. Opting for a CSS-based design,
we came up with a very clean and user-friendly system. Additionally, this
site showcases many design and artistic elements - like the generous use
of dramatic and interesting images. This site has won rave reviews.
North Hampton Public Library
The site for this New Hampshire town library
is our first designed from the ground up for the owners
to maintain by themselves via Contribute, Macromedia's new
Content Management software. It is also the site that inspired the
creation of my CSSCalendar Extension for Dreamweaver.
PremiumProtect.net
Great care was taken to come up with this site's clean, uncluttered
appearance. We wanted to distinguish it from so many other
" credit repair" sites in a way that might add some gravitas and
sense of trustworthiness. The site's infrastructure certainly is simple though,
and ties in to PayByCheck.com for online payments. This is a
de-linked example page from the site.
Amherst Regional High School Parent Center
Central to the design of this stunning, friendly and functional site
was the need to make it easily maintained by my volunteer successor.
Much as I thought database integration would have eased
Calendar updates, for example, we settled on
straight html, Server Side includes and CSS.
This intensely graphical site uses carefully selected
design elements which obviate the need for the images
typically used to create a visually interesting site.
The Inlook Group has remarkable credentials in
Records & Information Management,
Archives Management,
and Historical Collections Management.
The James House
in Hampton, New Hampshire
has been discovered as a
true first period colonial structure.
The website is straightforward but features some
modern dropdown menus and CSS textual menus.
Squamscott Coalition
The coalition is a charity whose grants have now expired.
The website included Access database-driven ASP pages,
but for now I show here only an example of a graphic intensive page
I had designed for them.
Underwater Exposures
Recently updated to a database-driven site, Steve's
incredible photos leap off these carefully crafted webpages.
The images are for sale in a custom shopping cart that both
integrates with PayPal and allows direct email of the order.
This site was the first to incorporate a javascript program
I wrote that is now being used around the world! It automatically sizes images
so users of even very low resolution monitors can see the full images on-screen.
Take Back Control
The owner of this colorful but tasteful site wants
to sell her book online, for which one pays via PayPal,
and then downloads an Acrobat file. The simplicity of the
graphic design and navigation belies the care
with which each element was chosen.
Here we show a demo page only.
Dover Solo
My responsibility was to give the owner
ideas for graphic design and a navigation bar.
I show here what I gave them as their starting point.
Blossom Farm
This beautiful and easy to use site employs
a shopping cart to sell plant and garden products.
The large number of products required
designing Excel formulas to automate
much of the product page generation.
Here we show a demo page only, as owner
always planned to maintain the site by herself.
art by hart
This small site that gave its owner
just what she wanted to show off her
tropical-motif handmade ceramic artwork.
Sometimes simple is better.
YMCA Camp Lincoln
This is a rather large, happy site directed
at kids and their parents. This is a de-linked demo page.
One by One
This wonderful organization helps explore
the legacies of the Holocaust and the Nazi Regime
by promoting a dialogue among descendants of
survivors, perpetrators, bystanders and resistors.
The site design and execution work well for the
organization's serious yet enlightening mission.
The American Independence Museum
The Museum is a private, not-for-profit institution
whose mission is to be the premier center
and historic site in New Hampshire for the study, research,
education and interpretation of the American Revolution.
The home page of this carefully crafted site demonstrates
an unusual use of layers and javascripting.
Lamedog Software
This ecommerce site boasts a shopping cart offering free
ftp download and then online purchase of peg-downloading shareware.
The owner recently decided to go on to other adventures, so this is now a
de-linked version of a page.
Black Box Technologies
A simple but effective site for a
highly technical service company.
My background helps for such sites.
Northampton First Night Celebration
I did this as a demo. Unfortunately they already had a designer. This page really requires Internet Explorer 4+, or Netscape 6+ .
Be sure to scroll down the page!
