JustSo PictureWindow To3 conversion utility
How-To
If you have a JustSo PhotoAlbum 1 or any other page with JustSo PictureWindows 1 or 2, you can easily convert them to the Safari-compatible, loaded-with-options-version of JustSo PictureWindow 3. I think it is always a good idea to make backups of your docs before running any conversion utility, including this one - just to be safe - but honestly I've not heard of any problems with running this command.
Find this Extension on the Commands/Valleywebdesigns.com menu.
After the Conversion,
you must remember to upload to your server:
1) the folder "vwd_scripts" and
its contents into the site root,
2) each instance of "jspw3_pop.htm",
a file that you will find in each folder with a file having
a jspw3 behavior.
3) the image(s) to pop up (if they
are not already there.)
4) if you are using css unique to
a document, then also upload the folder bearing the document's
name - it contains the css file for that doc's popups.
and you may REMOVE any old copies
of vwd_justso.htm or jspw2_pop.htm that are on your server.
Here you will learn about the User Interface, which is really quite straightforward:
The Basic tab:

- From Jspw1:
- If you wish to maintain any of the listed values from your jspw1 behaviors, simply select them here. These values will override any other jspw3 values. Note that if you do not click the Title box, then some browsers
- From Jspw2:
- The values in your jspw2 behaviors are always passed on to the new jspw3 behaviors.
- Documents to convert in site: [sitename]:
- Here you can choose the documents to process. If you choose to convert any documents that are not currently open in DW, it is wise to first save them in some off-site location. That way if there are any processing errors, you will have a safe copy to restore from. Also know that as a safety measure, if there are any documents Open but NOT from the listed site, those documents will not be processed at all.
- Save as
Conversion defaults: - You can save your settings (those on both the Basic and Advanced tabs) for future Conversions.
- Clear saved Conversion defaults:
- Erase earlier saved settings.
The Advanced tab:

The Advanced tab gives you the option of using all the power of jspw3, which, like jspw2, has many options for the popups. As you can see on this tab, there are two ways to tell jspwTo3 to use jspw3 settings:
- Add a jspw3 behavior anywhere on your site and Save those settings as Site Defaults. Or
- you can add a jspw3 behavior to the very page you which to convert and have jspwTo3 use those values in lieu of even Site Defaults just for that page. You can easily experiment to get everything looking just the way to want before proceeding with a Conversion. Note these options are for the Non-CSS values.
In contrast, the CSS values are always fluid, can be set and reset any time you add a jspw3 behavior to a page. When converting jspw1 behaviors, in jspw3 you can instruct the behavior to employ the CSS file it saves for the site as a whole, or instead to employ a special CSS file it saves just for the use of that one page (jspw3 is very powerful indeed!), or else simply use the Extension defaults. When converting jspw2 behaviors you already told the popups to use either the site-wide default css or a special css file for just that page - and if you have not already created a jspw3.css file then a new one will be added using your existing jspw2.css values!
- For jspw1,
Get Non-CSS
values from: - A Jspw3 behavior found in the document,
else: As explained
in the paragraph above, select this option to force the new
jspw3 behaviors to get their values from a jspw3 behavior you
have already placed on this page.
Tip: jspwTo3 will use the first jspw3 behavior if finds on the page. It is best to have but a single "model" jspw3 to be sure you get the results you expect. Aftewards you can remove that model behavior if you wish.
Site default Jspw3 values, else: As explained in the paragraph above, select this option to force the new jspw3 behaviors to get their values from the previously saved Jspw3 Site Defaults.
Jspw3 Extension defaults: If you were to uncheck the two boxes above, then the Conversion would be exactly the same as in Basic mode, using the defaults built in to the Convertor. - For jspw2,
Get Non-CSS
values from: - This entry is just a reminder that Non-CSS values are always carried over directly from each of your jspw2 behaviors on the page.
That's all there is to it!
