Password Protect 6
Issues
There are several minor things you might run into and want to know about. First though, we should list the browsers on which Password Protect 6 has been tested successfully.
- Tested on the PC:

- Templates:
- By design, both the Behavior
and the Object forms of Passwordprotect6 can be added to the
Children of Templates, but the Object form can not be added to
the Templates (nested or otherwise) themselves.
If adding the Object form of PassPro6 into a Child is refused by DW, do email me so we can resolve what turns out to be rather tricky coding due to MM translator code.
To add the Behavior form to a Nested Template, you need to do a little dance: At least in MX2004 (I've not tested this in MX), you can add Password Protect to the root template (but see note above) and then remove it from the Body (in Code View) - leaving the Head scripts intact, then update the children. Then you can apply Password Protect to any nested template page or child page. - Go button oddities:
- For the Behavior form of PassProtect (but not the Object form), in IE for Windows, and in some Mac browsers, when there is but a single entry field in the PassPro Login Form, for example you are asking for just a UserID or just a Password but not both, then the user must click the Go button because the Enter key will not function unless the user tabs to it first. No big deal, but fyi.
- Password masking and Netscape 4.x:
- Password "masking" (replacing characters with asterisks or other placeholders during entry) does not occur in Netscape 4.x
